Meet The Team

Stephen D. Whitsitt, MAI, SRA

Founder of Whitsitt & Associates and CEO who holds both the MAI and SRA designations through the Appraisal Institute. Steve has taught appraisal classes previously at Parkland College as well as being a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois. An appraiser for more than 40 years, Steve has led the central Illinois area in appraisal proficiency with experience as an expert witness in multiple jurisdictions, eminent domain (right-of-way and easements), and special use property specialization. He holds a B.A. Degree from Hanover College and is a past president of the Heart of Illinois Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and was integral to facilitating the merger of the Heart of Illinois Chapter with the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, creating one of the largest appraisal chapters in the country. Formerly a board member of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (ICAP) and currently a member of local organizations such as Champaign West Rotary and Central Illinois Rental Property Professionals, among other.

Mark S. Whitsitt, SRA

Mark S. Whitsitt, SRA

Chief Marketing Officer for Whitsitt & Associates while also serving as the Residential Supervisor for all residential appraisal operations. Holding a B.A. Degree from Eastern Illinois University, Mark also holds an SRA Designation from the Appraisal Institute. An appraiser since 2006, Mark has also served on the Champaign County Board of Review from 2012-2016 and served as Interim Supervisor of Assessments for Champaign County in 2016. He has also served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Heart of Illinois Appraisal Institute Chapter and assisted in the merger with that chapter and the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Mark served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, Board of Directors for the Homebuilder’s Association of East Central Illinois and has also been involved in prior years with the Showcase of Homes. Mark is a 2011 Graduate of the United Way Emerging Community Leaders (ECL) program and was a 2016 nominee for the “40 Under 40” selection for Central Illinois Business Magazine.

Angie Brix

Angie is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser for the State of Illinois and joined Whitsitt & Associates in 2017. She holds a B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master of Education Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Angie was a 2010 Graduate of the United Way Emerging Community Leaders Program and has also served on the Champaign City Council. As a Real Estate Broker in Champaign since 2007, Ms. Brix provides excellent knowledge of the central Illinois area real estate market and is proficient in completing residential appraisal reports for single family homes, condominiums & zero lot lines, vacant residential or recreational land, 2-4 Unit Small Residential Investment properties and has been involved with appraisal review services as well.

Aimee Baumgartner

Aimee began her career with Whitsitt & Associates in 2018 and is a Certified Residential Appraiser in the State of Illinois. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Vermont and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Aimee is proficient in completing residential appraisal reports for single family homes, condominiums & zero lot lines, vacant residential or recreational land, 2-4 Unit Small Residential Investment properties and has been involved with appraisal review services for the firm as well.

Meg Bialeschki

Meg joined Whitsitt & Associates in 2022 and currently holds an Associate Real Estate Trainee Appraiser’s license in the State of Illinois. Meg was raised in the small town of Newman, IL on her family farm and graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Fashion Merchandising and a Minor in Business Administration. Meg worked in retail management before becoming a Licensed Real Estate Broker in 2016. Meg is currently completing education and training through Whitsitt & Associates with the expectation of achieving Certified Residential Appraiser status in late 2024. She has experience and training appraising single family homes, condominium & zero lot line properties as well as vacant recreational, agricultural and residential land while also completing 2-4 unit Small Residential Investment properties.

Christy Whitt, MAI

Christy began as a commercial appraiser in 2013 and currently holds the MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute. She was previously an educational program developer, and has been involved in local education since 2005 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is proficient in completing appraisal work for commercial properties including retail, office, warehouse, industrial, subdivisions, vacant commercial land, special use and multi-family properties.

Wade Denby

Previously a commercial loan officer in Champaign-Urbana, Wade has been in banking for over 25 years and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Springfield. As a commercial appraiser with Whitsitt & Associates since 2014, Wade holds the Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license through the State of Illinois. He is proficient in completing appraisal work for commercial properties including multi-family, retail, office, warehouse, industrial and vacant commercial land.

Bryan Robinson

Bryan joined Whitsitt & Associates in 2022 and currently holds an Associate Real Estate Trainee Appraiser’s license in the State of Illinois. While previously employed by a community bank, he has been involved in real estate related work for nearly a decade and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Bryan is currently completing education and training through Whitsitt & Associates with the expectation of achieving Certified General Appraiser status in late 2024 or early 2025. He has experience and training appraising retail, office, warehouse, industrial, commercial land, special use and multifamily properties.
